“Welcome” Some Exciting New Additions to Blockhouse Island This Weekend

Make your way down to Brockville’s waterfront this Saturday, October 7th at 11am for the presentation of three giant Muskoka chairs, to the City of Brockville. These “Welcome Chairs” have been generously donated by Casual Living, Custom Décor Carpet One, and Hansler.
A message from the team behind the chairs: “(We) wish to say a “BIG” THANK-YOU to the community of Brockville and area for all the support they have given to (us) throughout the years! We all wanted to give a gift back to our community that we think represents our community well! Like our community, the chairs are fun, full of colour, evoke conversation, friendship and support. They will welcome all who see them to Brockville with their big welcoming arms! The chairs, like our community, are proud to be a part of Canada, as they are marked by the 150th Birthday of Canada. We hope these chairs will serve this community well, welcoming everyone to relax, enjoy and have fun exploring all that “our” City – Brockville has to offer”.
Many of you have probably seen similar oversized chairs during your own travels to various towns and cities, and we are excited to have them as new additions to Brockville. The homes for these chairs will be along the end stretch of Blockhouse Island, where the lighthouse and airplane are located. The chairs will be situated in perfect spots for you to sit, stay awhile, and enjoy the gorgeous views of the St. Lawrence River.
Make sure to use the hashtag #welcomechairsbrockville when posting on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, as we’d love to see all of your fun photos! There will be more information on the ceremony coming soon.
