Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day
St. Patty’s Day is coming up, and celebrations may be on your schedule! If you’re looking for something to do on March 17th (other than wear your favourite green shirt), there will be something for everyone! The Brockville Public Library will be hosting a St. Patrick’s Day Family Celebration, presented by the Brockville Irish Cultural Society.  A special 3-course dinner will be served at Tall Ships Coast Grille, and celebrations will be happening at Court House Lodge and the Brockville Legion. Don’t forget to also check out the local bars and pubs, which will most likely have festivities going on – Whiskey ROCKS will be performing at The Bar!
Experience the Museum at Night
See the Brockville Museum in a whole new light – at night! Explore the museum like never before through a series of uniquely themed after-hours events for adults featuring live entertainment, themed snacks, cash bar, and interactive activities. Events kick off at 8:00pm, and this month’s experience is a “Flashlight Tour”, an interactive adult scavenger hunt themed around the blackout caused by the 1998 Ice Storm!
Watch a Show at the Brockville Arts Centre
Dance, comedy, music…performances are abundant at the BAC! Kicking off the month of March, Four Season Dance Academy will be having their Competitive Showcase on the 2nd, the perfect time to see local talent on stage! March 3, Classic Albums Live Creedence Clearwater Revival-Chronicle is performing, following by comedian Ron James on March 4th. Listen to your favourite British artists on March 9 with Across the Pond—The British Invasion, and on March 23 enjoy classic soul tunes with Motown Soul.  Click here for more info on shows and show times.
Sing-along and Sway to Live music
Are you a fan of live music, although tend to enjoy a smaller, intimate setting? You’re in luck! Spitfire Cafe is hosting some great musicians this month. Check out their Facebook Page for more details on the artists and dates. Court House Lodge will be hosting Jack de Keyzer, 2x Juno winner, on March 3rd, and you will not want to miss this fabulous performance! The Georgian Dragon just released their upcoming weekend’s live music schedule on Instagram – give them a follow to stay updated!
Maple, Maple, and More Maple!
Maple Syrup season is here, and we have a few ideas on how to celebrate this sweet stuff! This Saturday check out the March Maple Tapping Out Party at Horton Homestead Farms Sugar House in Lansdowne. This event is free for everyone, featuring maple vendors, snowshoeing, trail tours, and aboriginal Paul Carl demonstrates how his ancestors made maple syrup and sugar. Later on in the month, on March 24th and 31st, visit Gibbons Family Farm for their Maple Open House, and the Anglican Parish of Kitley Pancake Breakfast!
Get Cozy with a Good Book
It’s hard to know what kind of weather March will bring, but if cold, wet, dark days are on the horizon, make your day a little brighter with a good book! Visit the Brockville Public Library to check out some good reads, or perhaps head over to Book Trader in Downtown Brockville to find a used favourite. Grab your blanket, a cup of tea, and enjoy!
