EV Charging Stations in Brockville

Electric vehicles (EVs) have been around for quite a while, however they have been growing in popularity for the past decade or so as people become more aware of their carbon footprint. Most electric car owners have EV charging stations installed in their homes, but for those looking to travel long distances, having a public charging station is essential.

Brockville is working hard to develop new public EV charging stations. Right now, the following locations are currently running:

  • Riverside GM – 1240 Stewart
    • They have two Level 2 chargers and a Level 3 charger
    • These chargers are located INSIDE the service area and so are only available during business hours
  • The New Oak Tree – 26 King St E
    • One Level 2 Charger
  • The Aquatarium Parking Garage – 6 Broad St
    • They have two Level 2 chargers

On top of those three locations, there are some locations where EV charging stations are in the works:

  • 48 King Street W Boutique Hotel
  • Brockville Kia Dealership
  • St Lawrence College
    • This location used to be in operation, but needs replacing soon

For those who are looking into into the electric vehicle market for their next vehicle, you’re in luck, because there will be an EV Showcase coming up on Saturday, August 17th in conjunction with the Downtown Brockville Funfest and sidewalk sale. Meeting at The New Oak Tree at 26 King Street East in Brockville, EV owners can come to the event for an owner rendezvous, and people wanting to learn more will be able to do a free EV test drive with Plug ‘n Drive.

If you’re seriously considering buying an electric vehicle, but are put off by the price tag of a new vehicle, consider going to the Used EV 101 Seminar! Plug ‘n Drive will be running the seminar on Friday, August 16th at 5pm at the Aquatarium. In collaboration with the Clean Air Partnership, participants will be able to learn more about the Used EV Incentive Program. All Ontarians qualify for $1000 off the purchase of a use fully electric or plug in hybrid electric car.
