This weekend, maple syrup is being celebrated all over Ontario during Maple Weekend! And guess what? There are a handful of farms and sugar shacks participating in this maple celebration just a short drive from Brockville! Why not go for a country drive this weekend, stopping in at one or more of these family run establishments. You will find out how maple syrup is made, and then get to enjoy it afterwards of course!
Gibbons Family Farm
Head up to Frankville this weekend to visit Gibbons Family Farm for some maple fun! Enjoy a guided tour of the sugar house, a walk through the maple bush, watch sap boiling, and sample maple products (including free maple taffy on snow!). On Saturday April 7th from 9:30am-2:00pm bring the kids to meet parrots from Parrot Partner, and get their face painted. A delicious pancake breakfast is also being served up in the church hall in Franville from 8am-12pm on Saturday. Open Sunday as well from 10am-4pm.
Golden Moment Farm
Golden Moment Farm not only produces top-quality maple syrup, but also raises Clydesdale horses and Golden Retrievers dogs! Stop in with the family this weekend and walk along the main trail to see their maple syrup systems in action, and say hi to their animals. Just be careful, you may just want to bring a golden dog home along with your golden syrup! Open from 10am-4pm Saturday and Sunday this weekend.
Pleasant Maple Stables
