STORYTELLING SWAP NIGHT
Author Thomas King says, “The truth about stories is that that’s all we are.”
On Wednesday, May 10th, I am excited to host another Storytelling Swap Night. Folks are invited to gather in a circle to tell a short story and to listen to one another. We start with a storytelling brain teaser to get everyone involved and then invite folks to share a short story. It can be a personal account or something from oral traditions such as folk tales, legends, fairy lore or myths. We sometimes choose themes for upcoming swaps such as: stories of love and romance, wisdom and wonder, or oceans and rivers.
Folks are invited to enter into a relaxed and comfortable setting where we are given the gift of time to step away from the fast-paced, social-media driven lifestyle. Everyone is welcome. A contribution toward the rental of the facility is appreciated.
Host Deborah Dunleavy is an award-winning international storyteller and author living in the outskirts of Brockville, Ontario. www.deborahdnleavy.com
