UNSAYABLE ABSENCE Book Launch

BOOK LAUNCH MARKS 92ND ANNIVERSARY OF DRILL BOAT EXPLOSION

“This is a story that comes from my heart,” says author and acclaimed storyteller Deborah Dunleavy of her newly released historical fiction Unsayable Absence.

On June 26, 1930, the J.B. King Drill Boat was blasting its way through the 1000 Islands when a bolt of lightning struck the barge setting off two tons of dynamite. Thirty men lost their lives including Dunleavy’s grandfather Jack Wylie. This tragic event is pivotal to the storyline of Dunleavy’s newly released historical fiction, Unsayable Absence.

BOOK LAUNCH On Thursday, June 30th at 2pm at the Brockville Museum, 5 Henry Street, Brockville

Deborah reads passages from her novel, talks about her family connections to the drill boat explosion, and shares her extensive research. Copies of Unsayable Absence may be purchased at the event.
